FAQ on Visa：

 

1. International students should hold study (X) visa if they study in China for more than six months, and those holding X visa should apply for residence permit within 30 days since the entrance into China;

2. Whoever holding L, F or Z visa should apply for residence permit within the duration of the current visa when they come to Beijing, and materials required include:

    1) Ordinary Passport

    2) JW202

    3) Admission Notice

    4) Medical Check (Materials made outside Beijing should be confirmed at Entry-Exit

        Inspection and Quarantine Bureau in Beijing

    5) Certificate for Temporary Residence (not needed for those living on campus)

    6) 1 two-inch (passport size) photo (light blue or white background)

    7) Visa and Residence Permit Application Form

3. Those holding study visa (residence permit) issued in Beijing can extend their visa with the following materials:

    1) Ordinary Passport

    2) Certificate for Temporary Residence (not needed for those living on campus)

    3) Visa and Residence Permit Application Form

    4) 1 two-inch (passport size) photo (light blue or white background)

4. Those holding study visa (residence permit) issued outside Beijing can extend their visa with the following materials:

    1) Ordinary Passport

    2) Certificate for Temporary Residence (not needed for those living on campus)

    3) Visa and Residence Permit Application Form

    4) 1 two-inch (passport size) photo (light blue or white background)

    5) Study certificate at former universities or colleges

5. Students staying outside China and without visa shall apply for study (X) visa, and change to residence permit within 30 days since the entrance into China. Materials needed are the same as those in Article 2;

6. Overdue visa will be punished: 500 yuan per day for expiry and 5000 yuan maximum; those holding serious overdue visa will be impounded or expelled from China
