On December 18th, 2015, the final of “Dongsheng Cup” International Entrepreneurship Competition and University Student workshop series—open to innovation and Entrepreneurship was held in Beijing Zhongguancun Dongsheng Technology Park. Piao Xinghui, a student from China-Korean Entrepreneurship Training Program in UIBE, had won the second award for novice entrepreneurs in this competition.
This competition had gathered more than 1000 excellent entrepreneurship projects from 4 countries which lasted 136 days, and 8 projects were eventually selected to move on to the final after fierce preliminary contests and semi-finals. 3 projects from China-Korean Entrepreneurship Training Program in UIBE entered semi-finals, among which 1 project—“Pprincess” by Piao Xinghui—made it to the final in this competition. “Princess” is a new beauty project that combines community and hospital ads, which mainly consists of cosmetology, fashion and Korean tourism. It serves as a platform not only for fashion and beauty information but for communications among people who are keen to this field as well. This project, in the final, had won the second prize for novice entrepreneurs and 20,000 RMB start-up fund after video demonstration, roadshow and answering questions from expert judges.
Starting from October this year, China-Korean Entrepreneurship Training Program is the first program for innovation and entrepreneurship supported by Korean government, and the first phase of it contains 30 students from Korean. School of International Education has hired experts and mentors who are seasoned in innovation and entrepreneurship to give lectures to the students, and guide them to make business plans. “Entrepreneurship CAMP” was also established, in which the students are able to go to Hang Zhou and Yi Wu in Zhejiang province, the hotbeds for innovation and entrepreneurship, and visit Alibaba and YiWu Small Commodity City to gain a firsthand experience of business boom in China. The Entrepreneurship Training Program has won vast popularity among overseas students who share the same entrepreneurship dream.
In recent years, School of International Education pays high attention to the career-orientation and pioneering work of the overseas students. Program of internship and Employment for overseas students was fully initiated in 2013, and the entrepreneurial center for overseas students was officially established in May 2015. Those programs aim to provide guidance and policy advice for overseas students, and make continued efforts in cultivating high-quality innovative talents with global visions for UIBE.
